At this year's Venice Film Festival, Filmmaking 1 alum Haifaa al Mansour was honored with three awards for her ground breaking feature, "Wadjda". This beautiful project is the first film to have been entirely filmed within Saudi Arabia, by the nation's first female director. Congrats Haifaa!

One year ago we opened up our new creative home, 4000 square feet in the middle of Hollywood, dedicated to authenticity, creativity and coherence in cinema. It's a dream come true to share it with you! In our first year we've housed film rehearsals for alumni directors and actors (Sacha Gervasi's "Hitchcock", Catherine Hardwicke's "Plush", Jenee LeMarque's, "The Pretty One", Jill Soloway's "Afternnon Delight", Joaquin Baca- Asay's "Dirty White Boy", Jake Scott's "Untitled" and projects with alumni actors Orlando Bloom, Marisa Tomei, Vincent Piazza...). We've held filmshoots (alumni Mary Ann Marino's "Eyedent", alumni Carlo Corbellini's "Robot/Down"), photoshoots, (Lake Bell for alumni Jeremy Power Regimbal's Lab Magazine), theatre and dance performances (Matthew Grondin's "Granite" starring alumni Erin Way, and "Anatomy Riot"), birthday parties, (alumni Marianna Palka cut the first cake in the Space!), Thinktanks with master economists, actors, musicians, dps and Cirque Du Soleil stars (Keith Reams, Marisa Tomei, Steve Lewinson, Lisa Leone and Alain Gauthier), plus my Filmmaking Labs and Master Classes!
